Lately, life seems to be shifting and changing quite a bit. Not just for myself but friends, students, and clients alike are mentioning this. Does it ever feel like life is happening and it’s hard to catch up? Like a whirlwind is happening all around you… and maybe even within you? Yep. As a Vatta (in Ayurvedic medicine), this comes up a lot for me. The best way to stay connected and feel grounded is to do just that – get GROUNDed. Whether it is through consistency in your life and routine or doing things outdoors and connecting with #mothernature – we all find our #balance in different ways. The important piece is finding what gives YOU balance✨
Over the next month in my classes, we’ll be moving through the energy systems in our body, also known as #chakras. We’ll start with the first chakra, the #root chakra. This photo is a symbol for me of connection: to myself but also mama earth. When your root chakra is not balanced, anxiety and fear come up a lot.
Here’s a few ways to get you grounded
- Getting on your yoga mat – moving, breathing, being
- Meditation (maybe even with the color #red)
- Gardening (or better yet, garden yoga!)
- Taking a walk/hike outside
- Dance
- Affirmations like “I am deeply rooted and connected. I am safe and secure.”
